Organization for Community Development (OCODE) is a grassroots national non-governmental organization in Tanzania that works to improve the lives of less privileged Tanzanians. It was established in 1999 by a group of 15 Tanzanians and registered in 2003 under the Society Ordinance Act of 1954 before it complied with the Tanzania NGO Act of 2002 in 2011. OCODE focuses on supporting and facilitating communities to realize quality basic education for Pre-Primary and lower primary children, improved community livelihood, and youth empowerment.
Since 2003 OCODE has been implementing a Community Based Education Intervention Program under the partnership of Stromme Foundation to date, after that other partners were engaged to support the education program such as Firelight Foundation (since 2013 up to date) and WeWorld (from 2012 to 2018).
Under the partnership with Stromme Foundation East Africa (SFEA), OCODE is implementing Education and Community livelihood programs in Ubungo Municipality in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, beginning 2019 to 2023.
