Since 2003 OCODE has been implementing a Community Based Education Intervention Program under the partnership of Stromme Foundation to date, after that other partners were engaged to support the education program such as Firelight Foundation (since 2013 up to date) and WeWorld (from 2012 to 2018).

“When I was first introduced to Bonga football, I joined just for fun because it was something I love most but I was not sure if I would be able to be this good as I am today. I have even impressed my parents. They now support me on this. I find myself more interested in playing football more than anything and I am now focusing on my talent which I believe it is going to take me farther in reaching my dreams”.- Hidaya Khamis
“We were in worse situation before OCODE met us, with only six classrooms we used to accommodate more than a thousand students from preprimary to standard seven pupils.”
“In each class, pupils attend classes by shifts. The preprimary students were using standard two classroom, because they come in the afternoon. Moreover, the class was not friendly compared to the one which has been constructed by OCODE”.
“My life was horrible before meeting OCODE, I didn’t have the ability to think of developing myself. I was about to give up since everything was against me’’. This was said by Lucia Mbaruku 46 years old, a widow with no children when visited by OCODE to her place.
“Through Community Microfinance groups I manage to survive with my children, I manage to assist them with their education and built a blockhouse. I used to live in a muddy house for almost seven years after my husband passed”. Said Ester Bhoke

“Epidemic of COVID 19 wasn’t an obstacles for us not to fulfill our desire of sharing our experience and abilities as team in an East African Cup of 2020’’. This was said by team captain Ashura Isihaka (20) of Bonga women football during the digital East African Cup.
Mr. Jeremiah Mbena said that “The team have learned one positive thing with technology that brought them together and have time to feel like they are in Moshi in sharing their experiences with their fellows from other countries”.
